#175 The Day Before

The Day BeforeOne moment can change everything.

Amber’s life is spinning out of control. All she wants is to turn up the volume on her iPod until all of the demands of family and friends fade away. So she sneaks off to the beach to spend a day by herself.

Then Amber meets Cade. Their attraction is instant, and Amber can tell he’s also looking for an escape. Together they decide to share a perfect day: no pasts, no fears, no regrets.

The more time that Amber spends with Cade, the more she is drawn to him. And the more she’s troubled by his darkness. Because Cade is not just living in the now; he’s living each moment like it’s his last.

my thoughts

You know the formula of meeting ‘ones’ (stranger) that could change your life moment? Like Before Sunrise? The Day Before has it (mungkin juga The Day Before ini adalah fussion Before Sunrise + Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist B-) ) Amber merencanakan sebuah pelarian sebelum hari di mana ia akan menemui keluarga barunya (well, orangtuanya yang sebenarnya).

Why do I get the feeling
this boy is
lost at sea?
           Just like me?

But it turns out, traveling with someone for certain amount of times will make you open up no matter what.

They bound to find each other, I guess. And that’s what fiction can give you, a promise of meeting someone better that they could lead you better ways too (and as a reader, I always fall for that!). However, I cheer them to be together. Just like I root for Eleanor & Park. Together, they’re awesome.

Baik Amber maupun Cade, keduanya memiliki sesuatu yang begitu mereka hindari  di esok hari. Makanya judulnya The Day Before atau satu hari sebelum mereka menghadapi kenyataan yang begitu menakutkan bagi mereka. Guess what? It’s soooooo beautiful.

Two thumbs up!

Life is the bad
with all the good.

The deadly sharks
with the beautiful sea stars.

The gigantic waves
with the sand castles.

The licorice
with the lemon and lime

The loud lyrics
with the rhythm of the music.

The liver disease
with the love of a father and son.

                     It’s life.
Sweet,
beautiful,
wind on your face,
air in your lungs,
kisses on your lips
life.
