Booking Through Thursday: Love Stories

The prompt:

No, no, I’m not asking if you like romances … what I want to know is what is it about stories that you love? Is it the stories themselves? The people? The plot twists?

I remember these lines I got from reading More Than This by Patrick Ness.

“People see stories everywhere,” Regine says, “That’s what my father used to say. We take random events and put them together in a pattern so we can comfort ourselves with a story, no matter how much it obviously isn’t true.”

More Than This, page 217

I’m underlining so we can comfort ourselves with a story, no matter how much it obviously isn’t true. So, if you asked me what is it about stories that I love? I’ll answer that it’s the stories themselves. That it’s also the people/characters in it. That it’s also the plot twists, pretty much everything that were brought by the stories I read. All parts of them.

I love to dive into stories in books I read more than the reality I’ve had to live in. Because there are so much options. Stories are places for me escape. I love that stories could comfort me even if it’s a sad one (funny isn’t it?).
