When Bea meets Beck, she knows instantly that he’s her kind of crazy. Sweet, strong, kinda-messed-up Beck understands her like no one else can. He makes her feel almost normal. He makes her feel like she could fall in love again.

But despite her feelings for Beck, Bea can’t stop thinking about someone else: a guy who is gorgeous and magnetic… and has no idea Bea even exists. But Bea knows a lot about him. She spends a lot of time watching him. She has a journal full of notes. Some might even say she’s obsessed.

Bea tells herself she’s got it all under control. But this isn’t a choice, it’s a compulsion. The truth is, she’s breaking down…and she might end up breaking her own heart.

Karena tahu bahwa buku ini bahkan baru akan terbit, i took the honor to read it first. Meski temanya memang sangat baru buat saya. Ya, tema yang personal psychology, yang saya sangat kurang aware. Eh, lewat ini, saya mencoba mengetahui sedikit banyak tentang OCD: Obsessive-compulsive Disorder.

The Story

It worked, and even she kissed him (Beck the stranger) out of blue. Well, Beck obsessed with his gym routine and clean disorder; he wash his hand over little dirts for 8 times to make him sure. Lalu OCD apa yang terjadi pada Bea?

Bea mengendarai mobilnya terlalu hati-hati, sangat hati-hati. Bea speak out all things on her mind. Bea keep the articles of car-accidents; like all of car accidents. She has been avoided sharp knife and not-really-sharp knife. And without her realization, she has stalking behaviour to the level that worrying. This last thing i’ve mentioned, Bea’s stalking behaviour, was the most part of this novel about.

Can she get through all of that?

In the end, of course she could. But it takes time, it wear out herself a lot (it feels like that). Lucky, there were Beck, Lisha, Dr. Pat, also Austin and Sylvia -her OCD objects.

The Love Story?

..if i told him even one little thing about me, i’d want to tell him everything. It’s not OCD that’s making me want to share; not this time. It’s the look of his face and the shape of his hands and the way we are when we kiss. It’s that he told Dr.Pat he likes me.

Still, it wasn’t always related to OCD. There’re still them as a normal teenager..

My Thoughts

Tapi, in some way, buku ini berhasil membuat saya ngerasa messed up atau miserable just the way Bea has through. Oh really, its not easy.. to be me ya ya i mumbling five for fighting’s song a bit

Ya si Bea ini, at first i thought she talked too much. But thats the point. She wouldn’t be one of people who had OCD if she didn’t talked much (in her mind, at least). From there, she share her anxiousness.. her panic .. her obsession.. her compulse condition. Its well-done written, Corey Ann 🙂

The characters

At the end of the novel, i spotted Lisha as the best character a real person could be. For a certain scene from the novel, i thought she wasn’t a nice friend. But i was wrong, because she is a really good friend. Then, Bea and Beck, not really my favorite but their characterization was good.

Beside Lisha, i like Austin and Sylvia couple. Like the sync between them.

Over-all, when you’re ready to leave the light contemporary romance and wants to deal with a slight-heavy mental illness issue, this novel could be a choice for you. Worth a try to read.

May you enjoy my review, happy reading 😉
